Reasons Why I Put Off Reading Books

So even though I read a lot, I have a huge reading list with books just waiting to be opened. And the number just gets bigger and bigger the more awesome-sounding books I find... anyway, here is a list of excuses - sorry, reasons why I put off reading books on my TBR list:

- I couldn't find the book anywhere (and I couldn't be bothered to gent it in the internet). Usually I look in the library or local bookstores, but the worst thing is when your looking for a specific book in a series and they have EVERY SINGLE BOOK in the series EXCEPT said book. Like, come on. GAH. It's like people purposefully don't want me to read super good books. 😡

- For some reason, I didn't want to read it too quickly. I wanted to wait a few years for this because I wanted to savour it... which makes me sound like I'm thinking of books as food. I'm not. I'm just very hungry.

- Admittedly, I've read the blurb and I find the sound of it quite... well, boring, basically. This is probably the most frequent excuse. I know, I know. I'll work on this.

- The book is so long that I seriously can't be bothered to read it. Don't give get me wrong, absolutely loved The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (review to come), but it was like five hundred and eighty pages or something, and it took me soooooooo long to read. And it's not exactly a thriller. As you can see, I have little patience with huuuuge books. Shameful, I know.

- I already have so many other books to read. I have like 150ish in my goodreads TBR shelf, alone, and like tons more that I haven't added. And when you're not a super fast reader, like me, it takes a long time to get through all of them. And she some are just more exciting, so I have priorities with books.

- I've been discouraged to read I think because I've read extremely negative online reviews from people who hate this book and would gladly burn it. Honestly, I

get that you have strong opinions, but I was genuinely interested

in this book and now... it's just not the same. Urgh.

- The start is really slow. I'm not a tremendous fan of really fast-paced thrillers, but I like to be hooked while reading. And I felt the start I said completely uneventful and snore-worthy, the name I'll probably fall asleep while reading it and never come back to it. Or at least, for a couple of months. Gosh, even writing this post is making me sleepy... 💤...literally. It's late here. Or maybe it's just that I find writing exhausting. Nah, I'm just tired.

One of my goals this year isn't one read a huge number of books on my TBR list, and I'll try to avoid having to use an excuse... wait I did it again. Reason! These are completely valid reasons and certainly not excuses at all! 😉

Bye for now,

Bubbles 😇
